Ashit Mohan Prasad is a retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and former Director General of Police, Karnataka, with distinguished experience in public administration, criminal justice, governance and constitutional institutions. He previously served as the Chief Information Commissioner, Karnataka, and currently serves as Professor of Practice in Law at M.S. Ramaiah School of Applied Sciences. He is also a Special Rapporteur with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
He holds qualifications in M.A. (Economics), MBA, LL.B. and Master of Business Laws (MBL), reflecting his multidisciplinary expertise across law, governance, administration and policy.
